The Saint-Gobain European Research and Engineering Centre (CREE) was established in 2001 in Cavaillon, (Vaucluse, France) and is part of the High Performance Materials sector within the Saint-Gobain group. CREE is one of the three largest research centres among the 15 laboratories worldwide within the Saint-Gobain group. The research teams work on innovative products and production processes, from exploratory research through to the demonstration of technical and commercial feasibility. You will meet a variety of multi-cultural specialists who are developing cutting-edge expertise in the areas of polymers, ceramics, electro-chemicals, grains, powders, abrasives and surface sciences.
The scientific numeric simulation department creates models that facilitate experimental testing, enhancing the physical understanding of the materials and the many variables that can impact performance. For example, scientific numeric calculation tests can be carried out using high temperatures, to analyse the deformation of a given material product. This department also co-manages specific transversal projects with the R&D teams in Northboro (US) & Shanghai (China). In order to reinforce this team, Saint-Gobain CREE has created a new position for a Scientific Researcher, specializing in Numeric Simulation (M/F)

Mission
Reporting to the Director of the Scientific Calculation department, you will :
• Develop & manage a variety of different research projects using the ANSYS software to create numeric models for the mechanic, thermo and electric domains
• Research all necessary information internally as well as externally to ensure the best end result for the subject in question
• Implement & follow the testing phase or access complementary measures in order to validate the final models
• Produce brief reports on your findings and present these results at specific meetings
Profile
• PhD, with thesis in the area of numeric simulation for finite elements /thermo-mechanic analysis/experimental and numeric study of coupled characters (thermo mechanics/fluid mechanics)
• Professional experience would be appreciated with competency in Mechanics, Thermo, Energy
• Strong interest in a variety of physical applications (multi-physic, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics),
• Knowledge of the ANSYS software is much appreciated
• Fluency in English (written and oral), working knowledge of French is important.
• Significant international experience outside of country of origin & open to mobility

An excellent communicator, you like to influence others, you are culturally sensitive, open-minded, and committed to work in a very stimulating team. You are very much at ease when dealing with different hierarchical levels.
